After installation of ides sap solution, we have to log in to the client 800 for practice. Client 800 will be configured with the default data which will be helpful for people to practice on different modules like SD, MM, PP, FICO, HR, PS…etc. By default the system will have default client of 001. We can change this default client to 800, there is no need to input the client 800 each time. Following video will give you an idea of changing default client in an SAP system.
This article will explain, how to change default client in sap logon.
Start SAP system using SAP Management console
Login to client 001
You can login to 000 or 001 client
Logon using 000 client, ddic user and its password or
logon in 001 client with SAP* or any other ID which have full access
Go to t-code RZ10
RZ10 t-code in the command field and hit enter
T-Code RZ10
Click Utilities > Import profiles > Of active servers
Go Back and Select the Default Profile
Go to “Extended Maintenance”
At this place change client 001 to 800 (or as per your requirement)
Change value to 800
Go Back and again click Copy in the Application Toolbar
Save and log off
Stop the SAP system using SAP Management console
After completely stopped all the services and restart again
Now you can check

Start SAP system using SAP Management console
Login to client 001
- Start SAP Logon from your desktop
- Logon to the SAP system using the entry in the SAP Logon window
- By default you will see the SAP initial logon screen with 001 client
You can login to 000 or 001 client
Logon using 000 client, ddic user and its password or
logon in 001 client with SAP* or any other ID which have full access
Go to t-code RZ10
RZ10 t-code in the command field and hit enter
T-Code RZ10
Click Utilities > Import profiles > Of active servers
Go Back and Select the Default Profile
Go to “Extended Maintenance”
- Select the option ‘Extended Maintenance’ and click change
- Double click on Parameter name ‘login/system_client’
At this place change client 001 to 800 (or as per your requirement)
Change value to 800
- Change the value to 800 in the ‘Parameter val’ field
- Click Copy in the Application Toolbar
Go Back and again click Copy in the Application Toolbar
Save and log off
- Go Back and click Save from the Standard Toolbar
- Click No in the dialog box that appears
- Click Yes in the dialog box that appears
- Log off from the SAP system
Stop the SAP system using SAP Management console
After completely stopped all the services and restart again
Now you can check
- Now logon to the SAP system
- Now you can see the 800 as client in the client field
