The second app that I will mention in this list is Inventory Turnover Analysis, as inventory turnover typically reflects the overall efficiency of the supply chain. Low inventory turnover reflects excess inventory or an overstock situation, in comparison, high inventory turnover is usually seen as a positive sign, since this number indicates the company is rapidly consuming or selling goods.

The next Fiori App I will talk about is Dead Stock Analysis. If you want to find out more about the stock that hasn’t been consumed during a given time period, this app will help you to build an analysis to determine what constitututes or defines dead stock of materials.

3. Dead Stock Analysis

Application TypeAnalytical (SAP Fiori elements)

deadstock.png
With this app, you can monitor and make time-dependent investigations of your dead stock. The analysis of the dead stock identifies materials that could potentially have a negative impact on the company’s cash flow and profitability. Based on these results, you can react immediately with follow-on activities and decide whether a material should, for example, be discontinued, discounted, or transferred to a different location.

The Dead Stock Analysis app supports you in your daily work, for example, as an inventory manager, to achieve maximum inventory accuracy and subsequently to optimize the inventory situation in your stock.

  • Monitor the dead stock with a focus on, for example, plants for which you are responsible.
  • Select a display currency and track dead stock for several plants in different countries.

  • Monitor important key performance indicators (KPIs) and key figures, such as the number of occurrences of dead stock (displayed as a value).
  • Define follow-up actions such as scrapping or stock transfers, or inform colleagues about the stock situation.

The app calculates the stock values based on the stock quantity of the selected reporting date multiplied by the current material price. This means that the app always calculates using the current material price, irrespective of the reporting date you have selected. This calculation method for the stock value is common to all Fiori apps in Inventory Management.

Further, the app that I am going to talk about is Material Documents Overview, which has a similar look and feel of SAP GUI Transaction MB51.

For non-valuated goods receipts the account assignment is not stored on material document item level. Therefore, neither the material document nor the material documents overview displays the account assignments for non-valuated postings.

Display the process flow for a material document with the relevant preceding document and follow-on document.

Add attachments to the material document.

Determine forms of output for a material document, such as print output or electronic data interchange (EDI).
